  • Location and injury: In order to have a valid claim, you will need to show that the sexual assault happened in Great Britain or another relevant place (e.g., a British-registered boat) and that your injuries were the direct result of a violent crime.
  • File in time: You will need to submit your claim within 2 years of the sexual assault happening. Claims can be started outside this time limit, as the CICA can consider whether there are exceptional circumstances.
